Yes, we accept credit cards. There is a 3% bank processing fee for all credit card transactions. We also accept zelle, checks, and cash.
Typical lead times are 7-14 days, depending on the number of projects currently in work.
No, you are not buying the full slab. The price of the material is included in your project cost. Masters Countertops will source all the material if we do not have it in stock.
The final price will be shared with you after the templating has been completed. It may vary from the initial quote depending on the overall area after measurements.
Templating
Measurements / templating is the most important part of the project. If the measurements cannot be completed the project will be delayed.
- Undermount sinks, faucets, and cooktops must be onsite during templating.
- Existing countertops should be cleared of items which may interfere with the measuring process.
- All cabinets must be fully installed and secured to the wall. This includes any finishing panels.
- During the templating, a person responsible for the project must be present to answer any questions we may have. This is the last chance to make any changes to the order.
MC does laser measurements and removal is not necessary. Walls are almost never straight, and corners are rarely square. If you have the ability to remove the old countertop ahead of templating, it would ensure the most accurate measurements.
Fabrication
Cutouts are discarded during the fabrication process. Our customers pay only for the fabricated area. Remnants are not included in the proposal.
Eased edge has been the most popular one.
Standard cabinet overhang is 1.5”. It may vary a little bit over the length of the kitchen, depending on how straight the cabinets are installed.
A comfortable island or bar overhang for a seat is 12”. This overhang can be up to ⅓ of the total width of the stone. Appropriate overhang support is required/recommended.
The undermount sink will have an overhang of 1/8” to a 1/4”. There may be a small variance as sinks may vary slightly. Any change to the sink overhang dimension needs to be discussed with the project manager. MC recommends sticking with this standard overhang for the hygiene and aesthetics.
Installation
Installation time varies depending on the size of the project, but it can take anywhere from 2 hours to 5 hours. Full height backsplash is measured the day after countertop installation and will take another 4-5 days before it is ready to be installed.
Heavy duty support brackets and/or sub tops need to be used where there is no base cabinet to support the stone. Depending on selected overhang, additional flat bar supports may be needed. Typical bar overhang is 12" which will generally require support brackets to be installed. Our measuring technician can help with determining when the support brackets are needed.
A bead of silicone caulk or construction adhesive is applied along the top edge of the cabinet that supports the countertop.
Yes, MC will install a dishwasher bracket below the countertop for an easy dishwasher installation.
Depending on the size and the shape of the countertop there may be a need for a seam and sometimes two. Masters Countertops will do its best to make as few seams and place them where it makes the most sense.
Yes, MC will seal between the countertop and the wall with a paintable caulk at no extra charge. Most other countertop fabricators charge extra for this service, not MC. When we say the installation is completed, we mean it.
Overhang support can be installed by MC for an additional cost. Please discuss it with your project manager.
MC is not a licensed plumber. We recommend using a licensed plumber 24 hours after the installation to reconnect your water and drain.
Installers are not allowed to move, reinstall, or reconnect appliances.
Yes, MC offers old countertop removal and disposal service. This service is not part of our standard fabrication and installation service, so please discuss it with your project manager during the quoting process.
Preparing for your countertop installation involves a few key steps:
- Clear the Area: Remove all items from your existing countertops, including appliances, dishes, and decorations. Ensure the area is clean and accessible for the installers.
- Access Points: Make sure there is clear access to your home for the delivery team. If necessary, measure doorways and hallways to ensure the countertops can be safely brought inside.
- Remove Old Countertops: If applicable, you may need to remove your old countertops before the installation. Masters Countertops offers removal services for an additional price. Be sure to discuss this option with our team.
- Check Plumbing and Electrical Fixtures: Ensure that all plumbing and electrical connections are ready for reinstallation once the new countertops are in place. This may include sinks, faucets, and outlets.

Yes, Masters Countertops will meet or beat any competitor's pricing. To do so, we need a copy of the competitive proposal.
General Countertop Questions
Many experts say that kitchen and bath remodeling give the homeowner the most return on their investment. They say that a remodeled kitchen adds 15% to 20% value to your home and a bath renovation like custom bathroom vanities adds an additional 10% to 15% worth.
Countertop overhangs keep spills from dribbling all over the cabinet faces and the edges of doors, drawers, handles and pulls. With countertop overhangs, spills fall directly to the floor, where they can be easily wiped up. Countertop overhangs can hide minor variations in cabinet alignment.
There are two types of materials - natural and man-made materials. Natural materials are granite, marble, quartzite, and dolomite. Man-made materials are quartz are porcelain
Quartz countertops are engineered stone surfaces made from crushed quartz, resins, and pigments. They are a popular choice for kitchen surfaces because they are durable, easy to maintain, and can be made to look like natural stone.
Marble and granite are both natural stones that are used for countertops and other applications. They differ in their origin, durability, appearance, and maintenance.
Granite will typically outlast marble since it's harder and more durable. Marble is considered the softer stone in comparison. Unlike granite, marble is not heat resistant and can etch easily, especially outdoors or in the kitchen.
Quartz is an engineered, man-made product manufactured in a factory by combining elements of quartz, resin, and pigment. Quartzite is a 100% natural stone formed deep within the earth that is extracted in blocks by quarrying.

Fireplace surrounds need to be non-combustible. Most popular materials for the fireplace are marble, stone, and porcelain.
Quartz
Quartz countertops are incredibly durable, resistant to scratches and stains, require very little maintenance, come in a wide variety of colors and patterns, and offer a consistent look, making them a practical and aesthetically pleasing choice for kitchens and bathrooms.
Quartz is a natural stone and is mined from the earth like diamonds. Quartz countertops are man-made from various sized stones of the purest, whitest quartz with some as small as a grain of sand. These small stones are mixed with 6%-8% pigments and resin and compressed, much like how the Earth compresses granite, to form a strong, dense, non-porous slab.
Quartz countertops can last 10–100 years, depending on the quality of the countertop and how well it's maintained
Yes, small chips on a quartz countertop can usually be fixed at home using a suitable adhesive like superglue or a pigmented epoxy, depending on the color of the quartz. For larger chips or deep damage, it's best to consult a professional.
The silicone used on the sink takes about 24 hours to fully cure. We recommend waiting until the silicone is fully cured and dried before hooking the plumbing back up and using your sinks. Other than that, your countertops will be ready for use immediately!
The harsh truth is that Clorox wipes are not an effective way for cleaning quartz countertops. While using them gives the appearance of cleanliness, it actually causes unintentional damage to the countertop after prolonged use
Many people use Windex® or similar cleaners to help shine their countertops, while this is okay for most quartz, you should avoid cleaners with bleach or ammonia. Windex®, for example, comes in an ammonia-free version. The real key to caring for quartz is to be gentle. The best way to clean countertops is with soap and water.
The quartz countertops are not heat resistant. Exposure to heat can cause the resin in quartz to melt and discolor at high temperatures.
Quartz countertops are considered highly stain resistant due to its non-porous nature, making it one of the most stain-resistant countertop materials available. However, it's important to note that it is not completely stain-proof and spills should be cleaned promptly to prevent potential staining.
Quartz countertops are highly resistant to damage, but they can still stain if not properly maintained.
Quartz is vulnerable to staining from red wine, coffee, tea, tomato sauce, juice, harsh chemicals, and improper cleaning when spills are not cleaned right away. In the natural stone the staining is caused by the stone absorbing the liquid. Staining in quartz comes from the interaction with the resin. The resin provides a strong bond and makes the quartz countertops a non-porous surface.
The staining occurs when the liquid reacts to the resin, which is one of the main components in quartz countertops. Resins are what help make quartz countertops non-porous but they are also what can be damaged by cleaners, heat, and chemicals.
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause quartz to fade.
A quartz countertop is produced by mining natural quartz crystals, crushing them into a fine powder, then mixing it with a resin binder and pigments to create a mixture which is compacted and molded into slabs under high pressure and heat, creating an engineered stone with the desired color and pattern. The majority of a quartz countertop is composed of ground quartz, with the resin acting as a binding agent to hold the particles together.
Quartz countertops are typically installed in kitchens and bathrooms.
No, you do not need to apply sealant to quartz countertops because they are non-porous and do not require sealing.
You should choose quartz countertops because they are highly durable, resistant to scratches and stains, require minimal maintenance, are easy to clean, come in a wide variety of styles, and are considered very sanitary due to their non-porous surface, making them a great choice for kitchens and bathrooms; essentially offering both aesthetic appeal and practical functionality.
Quartz countertops can be used outdoors if you choose the right type and take precautions. Quartz is a durable, low-maintenance material that's resistant to most weather elements. However, UV rays, extreme temperatures, and moisture can damage quartz over time.
Natural Stone - Granite, Marble and Quartzite
Granite is a natural porous stone which is quarried in blocks and cut into slabs. The granite must be sealed and can last up to 25 years before resealing. Although it is highly recommended you reseal them at least once a year to preserve its longevity and beauty.
Marble is porous and not highly recommended for kitchens. However if cared for and maintained properly it can be a beautiful addition to any kitchen. Most man-made materials are based on marble veining for a good reason. Marble has a unique look and beauty. Marble is soft, permeable and vulnerable to stains and used mostly in bathrooms. If lemon or any acidic foods contact the countertop the shine will come off. It is recommended sealing every 6-months to a year.
Quartzite countertops are made from a natural stone that's quarried from the earth and used to cover kitchen and bathroom surfaces. Quartzite is a metamorphic rock that's formed when sandstone is exposed to magma deep underground.
Yes, granite and all natural countertops can crack, but they are generally durable and unlikely to crack under normal use. Cracks can be caused by a number of factors, including:
- Impact: Dropping heavy objects onto the countertop can cause cracks.
- Heat: Repeatedly placing hot cookware on the countertop can cause cracks.
- Weight: Putting a lot of weight on the countertop can cause cracks.
- Installation: Poor installation, such as an uneven surface, can cause cracks.
- Natural fissures: Granite can have natural fissures that can develop into cracks.
- Wear and tear: Improper care and wear and tear can cause cracks.
Cracked granite can be repaired using epoxy. A professional can assess the damage and recommend the best repair method.
Fissures are extremely narrow openings along the boundaries of the stone's crystalline structures. The visible separation usually remains within the stone, though they do sometimes go all the way through. Fissures are natural features in a granite countertop, but cracks are damage caused by outside impact.
Maintenance
To maintain quartz countertops, regularly wipe them down with a soft cloth and a mild soapy water solution, cleaning up spills immediately, and avoiding harsh abrasives or scrubbing pads as they can scratch the surface.
Yes, sealing granite and marble is generally considered necessary because both stones are porous and can absorb liquids, leading to stains if left unsealed. Applying a sealant helps protect the surface and prevent staining from food, liquids, and other substances.
To clean and care for natural stone countertops, use a mild dish soap and warm water solution to wipe down the surface, always wiping up spills immediately, especially acidic liquids like wine or citrus juice. A void using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or acidic substances like vinegar or lemon juice which can damage the stone. Regularly seal your countertops to protect them from stains and etching.
